Viva prairie dogs!

It's a great day for prairie dog fans, as the city of Lubbock has approved a plan to relocate 15,000 of the critters instead of exterminating them from their current home in a wastewater treatment area. Full coverage of the Great Prairie Dog Saga can be found here.

That's great news!

It still cracks me up that anybody is spending money relocating frickin' overgrown rats. Not to mention the money spent trucking in officially approved dirt to fill the burrows! Hopefully, this will be a "community service" program for criminals, but somehow I doubt that such a thing would be acceptable. They'll probably have to fly in prairie-dog specialists from Vancouver or something.

Anything to make the city slickers feel better. Crazy, man!
