In case you didn't notice, the GAO dropped its lawsuit against Vice President Dick Cheney over his Top Secret Energy Meetings from 2001, so we'll never get to know if they did in fact play Five Minutes In The Closet With Ken Lay or not. Bummer.

I don't think it's a wholly inaccurate characterization necessarily, but I suspect most people think that "dropping a lawsuit" involves quitting an active case, or reaching a settlement of some sort. One might actually quibble and suggest it's impossible to "drop" a lawsuit that doesn't exist (i.e. a decision had been rendered, case closed UNLESS the GAO appealed).
In contrast, the Yahoo News (!) version seems to represent the facts more accurately (at least to me).
