Arab American Republicans Against Bush

Avedon and Hesiod point to the Arab American Republicans Against Bush web page, which could either be the work of a lone crank or could be the start of a backlash against the President by a group that largely supported him in 2000 and will be a key constituency in states like Michigan. There's not really enough on this page to tell, but one can hope.

Actually, the most interesting thing on the page is this quote, which is one of the reasons given for being AARAB:

(3) Legitimized anti-Arab and anti-Muslim bigots and fostered a culture of divisiveness. The ancient Greeks used to say, "You shall know a man by the friends that he keeps." Given the nature of his friends and advisors, what are we to conclude about George W. Bush:

Attorney General John Aschcroft: "Islam is a religion in which God requires you to send your son to die for him. Christianity is a faith in which God sends his son to die for you."

Daniel Pipes, appointed to U.S. Institute of Peace: "The increased stature, and affluence, and enfranchisement of American Muslims...will present true dangers to American Jews." (October 2001) "The Palestinians are a miserable people...and they deserve to be." (July 2001)

Rev. Franklin Graham, delivered Bush’s inaugural invocation and his personal minister: Islam is "a very evil and wicked religion."

Rev. Pat Robertson, friend of Pres. Bush: Prophet Muhammed "was an absolute wild-eyed fanatic."

Rev. Jerry Falwell, friend of Pres. Bush: "I think Muhammad was a terrorist."

President Bush was justly praised for speaking out against anti-Muslim bigotry in the wake of 9/11. If this website is any indicator, his friends and associates have cost him that goodwill, and deservedly so.

Now when do you think we'll see Log Cabin Republicans Against Bush?

AARAB has had their press release circulated by a few "semi-mainstream" sites like commondreams.org.

The organizer (from googling), Khalid Turaani, seems to have some sense. Although it's possible that it's two different people, the executive director of American Muslims for Jerusalem (which I think would be fair to characterize as a pro-Palestinian group) shares the same name. Here is a biography from islamonline.net:

Khalid Turaani is the Executive Director of the Washington based American Muslims for Jerusalem (AMJ). Before AMJ Mr. Turaani was the Director of Government Relations and Development at The American Muslim Council (AMC)

Khalid Turaani was born and spent the first 17 years of his life in a Palestinian refugee camp. He came to the US to pursue his education and received a degree in Physics.

Mr. Turaani has served on the National Policy Council of The Arab American Institute (AAI) and on the Executive Board of The American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee in Michigan. Major media outlets like The Associated Press, Reuters, CNN, The Financial Times, The Sunday Telegraph and others have used Turaani as an expert source.

I sense there is probably some polarization within the Arab-American community over Israel and the Republican Party's relationship thereto. Maybe that will be an important dividing line in the election - particularly if the "road map" doesn't get off the ground?

The world unites over their hate for anyone with the last name Bush! Bush Nazi's who rig votes and are nothing but Nazi's! Black people in the state that Jeb Bush in overlord of, were turned away from the polls. They did NOT get to vote. Overlord Dubya Bush sits in the whitehouse and he did NOT win in 2000. Anyone who can't see there is something ROTTEN in the states is blind. This Son of a Bush has to go! Dubya Bush said, "There ought to be limits to freedom." If you ask me there ought to be limits to how many Bushes get in the whitehouse. These bastards will be taking the votes back from women next. Blood for oil is not the way America should be run. I'm a Texan and I can tell you the oil here is not being pumped from the ground. It hasn't for many years! Bush is a war making liar! He should be impeached!

Hey Bush knew about 9-11 before it happend. Bin Laddin is who we needed to go after! Why did Bush go after Saddam instead? The real reason was to finish what his old man started. Back in the 1980's America gave both these guys money. Who was in office then as V.P? Old man G. Bush. Not all Arabs are bad just because a few are! Just like not all blacks are in gangs. Just like not all white people are biggots. It's a stereotype! In WW2 America had a camp for the Japanese that lived here in. All because we were at war with Japan. It was NOT right and neither is what is going on with the Arabs now post 9-11. People forget that the "Oklahoma City Bombing" was by American "Tim McVeigh" and his cohorts. Should we make a camp for anyone with a Scoth/Irish name? It's madness! We should ONLY go after the people who are bad and not bad mouth their whole race! There are good and bad in EVERY race! Evil knows no race and you only have to look at history to know that is a true fact! So lets not point the finger at races, only the evil minded. We cannot point the finger at everyone in the Middle East for crying out loud. Not all of them hate us, some of them even love America. We all are human beings! Our blood is all red and we all live on this small rock called earth. We must remember that in order to have true freedom. Hate is like acid, it will only eat away at freedom.

It is an absolute depressing crying shame that so many ignorant sheep like Americans cannot see the fallacy of the current imposter in the White House. The fact that this silver spoon baboon was AWOL during the Vietnam war, and nobody seems to care is sickening! Is it a coincedence that tricky Dick Cheney was the former CEO of Haliburton that has all of those lucrative contracts to rebuild the oil infrastructure in Iraq. Please,it makes my blood curdle when dubya baboon praises the hell out of the troops who are dying on a now daily basis, and at the same time is cutting their benefits. Please America wake up and vote these liars out of office.

I'm so concerned that all this talk about how much money Bush is raising will demoralize everyone. It truly is discouraging when we read the anger and disgust of nations against our President, and it never seems to phase him. Nothing we do can get his attention. The bubble that his aides have placed around him protect him from even reading the newspapers. We have lost our media and our financial integrity. There must be a way that we can all unite and defeat this man. If there isn't, we're lost.

George Bush seems to have lost his bearings!!!. And lead America to lose its bearing along with him. He is no brainy, this is a fact, and he sees the world around him in black and white. Being surrounded with this the type of administration, he cannot see it any other way!!.

“Too many people, in too many countries, see US foreign policy as lacking universal principles that resonate with the rest of the world. It seems to them that an America projecting its power in pursuit of its own interests will only end up destabilizing a globalizing world.” Yutaka Mataebara.
George Soros said: "America, under Bush, is a danger to the world,"
Soros believes that a "supremacist ideology" guides this White House. He hears echoes in its rhetoric of his childhood in occupied Hungary. "When I hear Bush say, 'You're either with us or against us,' it reminds me of the Germans." It conjures up memories, he said, of Nazi slogans on the walls, Der Feind Hort mit ("The enemy is listening"). "My experiences under

Soros was right, as a recent European poll found that 59 percent of Europeans considered Israel as the major threat to world peace with the United States coming in second. It is obvious that Soros faild to see Sharon from the same angle that he sees George Bush. Is it a coincidence that Israel and the US are seen by the Europeans as the major threat to peace?. No, it is not. It due to the fact that both country’s foreign policies are being charted in Israel, or by Israeli’s – Zionist - minds.

Instead of focusing on the direct threat America is facing, he shift focus to Iraq.
It is oil driven war, and Isareli driven war. There is no mass destruction, Iraq did not pose a threat to the US, it certainly was a major threat to Israel.!!!. While Iraq failed to obey one UN resolution fast enough, Israel has steadfastly refused to obey not just one UN resolution, but also an incredible 69 UN resolutions. The US used its veto power more than 180 times. Yet, George Bush thinks people hate America, because it is a great nation, and because of its great values!!. Oversimplification that insults people’s intelligence, not his own intelligence though.

Palestinians, Arabs and Moslems have, been time after time , outraged over George Bush’s statements related to the Israel’s brutality and crimes against the Palestinians. Israel has killed 750 children, 150 women, destroyed 3000 homes, 400 schools, 25 hospitals, 10,000s of olive trees ...., . Every time George Bush comes out to talk about it, he says something along the line: we understand Israel’s right to defend itself. And the next day, when Palestinians attack Israelis, he condemns it in the strongest language.....

Why Arabs and Moslems hate America?, he has two answers, first, because America is a great nation, 2nd because of the Arabic TV stations, Al-Jazeera.!!!,

I just hope he will not one day blame AlJazeera for the results of recent European polls, which revealed that Israel and teh USA are the major threat to world peace

Is the Israeli lobby and the Jewish control of the American politicians so powerful that the elected officials have lost all sense of moral right? Evidently, former President Jimmy Carter thought so when he was prompted to say, after he left office of course, that no politician dared to oppose its demands, because to do so would be "political suicide." They the American money, and teh American soldiers fight and die in their wars.

It is time for the American people to face the fact that supporting Israel's criminal activities is the greatest threat facing America today.
