Great moments in headline writing

Teen stripper's mom arrested for driving daughter to work. Apparently, letting her take the bus would have been OK.

It's not quite as good as the New York Post's legendary "Headless Body Found In Topless Bar", but it works.

Indeed, that remains the best headline ever. First runnerup was from the San Antonio Express News in the fall of 1984, right after the Republican convention in Dallas: "Hospitality Orgy Leaves Dallas Limp". Someone get me a cigarette...

hi there
funny, i was just thinking over on my blog about the time when my dad used to be subeditor - anyway one of his favourites was when some diplomat was arrested and the headline was 'Man held in attache case'.

'Man held in attache case' - heh. Hope they cut some air holes for him. :-)

"Hospitality Orgy Leaves Dallas Limp" was definitely written before Viagra came out. :)

Here's another sign of quality journalism from the New York Post: Anytime you see the word "FIEND" in the headline, you know it's top-notch writing.
