The National Council of La Raza is holding its annual convention in Austin this weekend, and up to 20,000 attendees are expected. They've got some pretty high-profile speakers lined up to address them:
Latino leaders and activists will attend workshops and seminars and hear speakers, including the president of Spain, Don José María Aznar; Democratic presidential candidates Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts and former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean; New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson; U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison of Texas; and U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi of California, among others.
