The Pearl brewery

Here's a great story about the Pearl Brewery in San Antonio, which was purchased last July (not longer after I'd noted that it was having difficulty finding a buyer) by a San Antonio-baed company that appears to be committed to preserving and restoring the historic site. That's excellent news. Check it out.

I'm trying to find information on the 280' cattle ranching mural that used to hang in the Pearl Brewery until the 1970s.

I've got several dozen of the old Pearl brand bottle caps from the brewery. They are unused (still good for capping your own homebrew if you'd wanna use them) and in good shape. If anyone is interested, send an email.

Beverly, I know it's been over two years since you asked your question, but I think I have your answer. I know the chances of you ever seeing this are slim, but just in case here is it.

Seems the mural is in storage through the National Endowment for the Arts. Below is the specific information.

Southwest Texas State University (on behalf of Alkek Library)
San Marcos, TX
CATEGORY: Heritage/Preservation FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Visual Arts
$10,000
To support conservation and restoration of a section of a 1951 Buck Winn mural, depicting the visual drama of an early cattle drive. Originally painted for the Pearl Brewery in San Antonio, it was removed, folded accordion-style, and placed in storage in the 1970s.
