Woodland Heights Home Tour

A little plug for my neighborhood here, which is hosting a Home Tour this weekend. Come on down and see some interesting houses built before evil soulless developers like Bob Perry got his hooks into Houston. You can buy tickets ($15) at these locations and get a preview of the featured houses here. I believe Metro trolleys will be running to take you to each house. I've taken these tours before, and they're always a lot of fun. Hope to see you there!

Sorry, but I'll have to settle for the virtual tour, however, I can see why you live in this particular neighborhood. Based on the pictures, it reminds me of the South Shore of Staten Island. Sadly, the North Shore has become overdeveloped and/or run down. Although the South Shore has seen its' fair share of construction in the time I've lived there, it still has many of the older homes from the first half of the 20th century.

Funny, I always thought of the South Shore as being the epicenter of soulless cul-de-sac development. Of course, I was raised in the North Shore and never spent all that much time in the better South Shore neighborhoods like Tottenville. And yes, sadly, the North Shore has gone to hell in recent years. Shame, really.
