If I could add one thing to this anti-DeLay editorial in today's Chron, it would be to note that one other side effect of his egregious redistricting scheme has put DeLay himself into a hotly contested race for the first time in forever. Sadly, the Chron seems incapable of mentioning Richard Morrison's name. Still, it's a nice piece to read, and it promises more on the Congressional races from Cragg Hines. Better late than never, I guess. Taking on Tom DeLay, which also notes some more Fort Bend coverage of the phony Boy Scout award, and The Stakeholder also picked up on this.
Posted by Charles Kuffner on September 17, 2004 to Election 2004 | TrackBackBtw, Charles, when's the last time you did a review of the House races in TX, analyzing where crossovers are likely (both D to R and vice-versa), which are tossups that extra donations could help, and what if any - the latest polls are showing?
An earlier analysis I did suggested there's only 4 or 5 states with multiple races to consider and as I recall, Texas led the pack.

It is exactly right on all accounts, and has some striking imagery in it. The new districts are deformed, they are the spawn of DeLay, and they are a result of his megalomania.
I live in Austin, now split into 5 congressional districts thanks to DeLay, so I can certify that this perspective is a true one.
