New Houston blogs

I've mentioned MetroBlogging before, so I'm pleased to note that the site now covers Houston. Looks like it ought to be a pretty good resource for the arts and entertainment scene, so if that excites you, you know where to look.

Kevin has announced the release of blogHouston, which is a more news-oriented blog focusing on, well, Houston. As their About page notes, they took inspiration for the site from the now-defunct LAExaminer site, so if you were a fan of that, you'll surely be a fan of them. I'm adding both to my Bloglines subscriptions and expect to check them regularly. Check 'em out.

New Orleans also just started its own Metroblog (to which I contribute). Check 'em all out!

Thanks for the plug! The endorsement of Houston's best blogger is certainly worth having. I think it's time you consider a "Plugged by Kuff" button or some such. :)

Great work! It does all of us here in Houston proud.

Houston is a great place to live with its beautiful locales and great amenities. It is the fourth-largest city in the U.S. (population 2 million), located 50 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. Houston has all the ingredients for a great lifestyle. Some of the aspects which make Houston, interesting and worth living are:

Sports and Recreation: Houston is home to two of the NBA champions Houston Rockets and Houston Comets. Houston has some of the best parks in the worlds. The Bay Area Park of Houston, located south on Interstate 45 that has baseball and soccer fields, tennis courts and a boat ramp on Taylor Lake.

Museum: Houston has 11 museums. This includes the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, the Contemporary Arts Museum, The Children?s Museum of Houston, The Museum of Natural Science (housing an IMAX theater, Planetarium and Cockerell Butterfly Center), The Houston Museum of Health Science and the Holocaust Museum. The museums are usually not very crowded, admission is generally very reasonable, and the exhibits change frequently and are well displayed.
Shopping and Restaurants: There are hundreds of fabulous restaurants featuring every possible imaginable type of cuisine in this city than any other in the country, after New York. Again, they are much more affordable and accessible than New York, and tend to be less formal.
