The "Freebird!" controversy rages on

Forget Chicago. Ray in Austin is claiming credit as the progenitor. Personally, I think we may have ourselves a Newton/Leibniz situation here. I'll leave it to the historians to decide who's right.

I guess a Newton/Liebniz situation is more honorable than a Gore/Cerf one. I'll take it.

I knew there was a Rice connection. We used to bother Ronnie Po & Co. with the Freebird request at Rice parties in 1988. Ray Isle now seems to be senior editor at Food and Wine magazine.
