Congrats to the Longhorns

Forty-one to thirty-eight. Well done, and well deserved. And to think the storyline could have been about two missed placekicks. Much better this way. Congrats, Texas.

By the way, does anyone else think it would be funny if after all the hype about the Texans needing to tank to get Reggie Bush, he decides to return for his senior year so he could have another shot at a BCS championship?

I wonder about what happens with the Texans if Vince Young comes out. Even with Carr, you'd have to think there would be tremendous pressure on the Texans to take the hometown hero QB.

The problem the Texans have is that David Carr kisses the turf more often than he kisses his wife (68 sacks allowed this season). :-)

With this in mind, an OL would be helpful, and they could trade down to get one, but Vince Young is a more mobile QB than Carr, so if they keep the pick and Young comes out, then he likely jumps to #1 overall.

The Jets, at #4, will still take the Best Available Athlete, regardless of who's left. :-)

Probably the first time in memory Texans have been united against a Bush....

Oh, and I screwed up big-time. With Texas down 31-26 in the 4th quarter, USC about to score, and Texas having failed to stop USC for the entire second half, I gave up and went to bed. I couldn't believe the final score! I'll bet I'm not the only one, though, just the only one to admit to it ;-)

Anyhow, the final result was great, even if I didn't see it live.

BTW, how dumb was it for USC to go for 4th-and-2 from their own red zone instead of punting? There's confidence, and there's arrogant overconfidence.
