Say "Bye-bye, Bob" on Tuesday

We are officially in the very last days of Robert Eckels' tenure as Harris County Judge.

County Judge Robert Eckels will formally resign Tuesday and Commissioners Court may select his replacement, according to an agenda released today.

[...]

The agenda item is the first formal indication of when that will take place, although the court's regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday was considered a probable time.

The agenda item said the Commissioners Court will consider "transmittal by the county judge of a letter of resignation and discussion and possible action on a replacement."

Afterwards, we get to see if Jared Woodfill's foot-stomping was effective or not, and if so who'll be next in line for an appointment to an office they didn't win. Stay tuned.

This is not new news - there's gotta be a Hollywood promoter involved in announcing and reannouncing this issue over and over. Maybe it's someone experienced with promoting Anna Nichole Smith or Brittney Spears.

One interesting fragment: Eckels is presenting this in a manner that allows the commissioners to vote it down - or modify it - such as resetting a departure date to next fall.
