Well, the Houston Texans made their debut last night, losing 34-17 to the Giants in a preseason game. I must confess that I didn't watch. I love football, and I'll root for the Texans, but I just can't bring myself to give a rat's heinie about an exhibition game. I'm hard pressed to think of an activity with a higher ratio of hype to meaning than preseason football.
How long do you think it will be before fawning accolades become impatient brickbats? My money is on November.
Posted by Charles Kuffner on August 06, 2002 to Other sportsHi - I followed a link from somewhere, but can't remember (not Lefty Directory). Yeah, it is getting difficult to decide on links - guess there can't be any rules. I don't like the 'personalised' link subheadings either, and would prefer more neutral ones. Lefty guilt, fer sure! As we say in Australia: On the road to surfdom there are many links and he who links least gets linked last though left leaning links are least likely to be left out. Or something like that. Anyway, good luck. Tim
