Twenty-five years ago today, the US Olympic hockey team beat the Soviet Union 4-3. A more exhilarating moment would be hard to imagine.
Sheila and Eric give us some imagery. Thanks for the reminder, you two.

1. The USSR team beat the US team at Madison Square Garden about a month before the game in Lake Placid by a score of 10-3.
2. The US still had to beat Finland on Sunday morning to win the gold medal.
I wish I had the Sports Illustrated issue from the week after the US won the gold medal. The celebration on the ice after beating the USSR was the cover. Absolutely nothing else, including the name of the magazine. A classic.
Do you beleive in miracles? I still do. :-)
