Actually she resigned effective at midnight April 1. The local Precinct Chairs are meeting on April 2. They may elect a new County Chair then, or they may wait a month to give candidates more time to campaign. This will indeed make it easier for the party activists to move forward together.

Bill is right... Susan Hays is still the chair. She has announced her intent to resign on 4/1. You might want to correct that.

We won't have a month or 40 days to elect the chair, because if only one member of the Executive Committee calls for a meeting to be called to fill the vacancy, it must be convened within 20 days.

Are we really anticipating that on Saturday we are willing to look like chickens with our heads cut off to the public because we can't elect a County Chair.

Saturday's meeting will be very public, because the press will be there, and we need to be on our best behavior and look like we have our act together.

I would invite all of you to look at my postings on Burnt Orange regarding the back story of Malberg and Wilkins and the ruling by the State Party. There are still issues to be resolved here. The opposition to Hays seems to have resolved who can call a meeting, but there Wilkins has not appointed a temporary chair as he is supposed to and the meeting that he is allowed to call in the case of a vacancy of the Chair, is to be to fill that vacancy, not continue the Feb. meeting!
