Well, remember that DeLay dissed A&M (and Baylor) in 2002 as essentially being a "liberal" school. I suspect that his hatred dates a little further back than that though. A young Tom DeLay was kicked out of Baylor for vandalizing buildings at A&M and for the mortal sin of dancing. But like GWB, such antics are meaningless for Republicans since they were before his 40th birthday, before he found God and before he gave up drinking.
