Carlos Guerra has a couple of good columns about the Trans Texas Corridor and the opposition its been generating in San Antonio, home of a nasty fight over toll roads. See this one about the financial aspects, and this one about how many aspects of the TTC are not widely discussed.

I noticed that the first private industry representative listed for that pseudo-public organization is a lobbying firm run by former Rep. Tom Loeffler, who by the way happens to be a huge fundraiser for GWBush and the GOP.
What is the rationale (the public one, I mean, not the obvious underhanded one) for a lobbying firm being so prominently placed on that board?
