This is too funny.
It seems the Republican controlled Texas Legislature passed a law that if you’re indicted for a felony, you can’t be carrying a concealed handgun, even if you have a license.Oops.
At the request of the Texas Department of Public Safety, Republican Justice of the Peace Jim Richards signed an order suspending Thomas Dale DeLay’s license to carry a handgun in the State of Texas.
I'm not sure exactly what he's going to appeal. Texas Government Code section 411.187 (PDF - scroll down) says:
Sec. 411.187. SUSPENSION OF LICENSE. (a) A license may be suspended under this section if the license holder: (1) is charged with the commission of a Class A or Class B misdemeanor or an offense under Section 42.01, Penal Code, or of a felony under an information or indictment....
Seems pretty clear to me.
