Not silent enough night

It wouldn't be Christmas without an accounting of Christmas songs you hate, would it? I'll open the bidding with any version of "The Little Drummer Boy", whose ad nauseum refrain drives me crazy every time. I'm also ready to plug my ears with whatever's handy whenever "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" comes up on the radio, which appears to be every five minutes. What Christmas song or songs could you go another year (or lifetime) without ever hearing again? Leave a comment and let me know.

"The 12 days of Christmas" has me ready to commit suicide by the 4th day.

Also "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and anything with Santa in it. Call me old-fashioned, but I prefer the songs with some spiritual meaning.

My favorites are posted here.

Merry Christmas!

My Grown up Christmas List...for some reason this one has always made me gag.

All of them.

As a kid I loved "Little Drummer Boy" with the rum-pa-pa-pums. Now it and most Christmas songs have me scrambling to find something else.

But particularly horrific is "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer". I hate it, hate it, hate it. I wish the reindeer hadn't stopped with Grandma and had run over the singer as well.

And with that cheerful thought, Merry Christmas.

A little late to the party, as usual, but this year I was horrified to hear some maudlin POS about a little boy who wants to buy a pair of shoes for his mother, so she'll look pretty if she meets Jesus tonight, or somesuch.

And it's an effing Christmas song?!
