Friday random ten – Name That Tune 2

I did this before some months ago and thought it was fun, so here we go again. I’m going to post some lyrics from ten songs in my collection. Your job is to name those tunes, and for extra credit the artists. I don’t think any of these songs are particularly obscure, so you should have a good shot at them. Ready?

1. And so I write, by morning light
And afternoon, and pretty soon
My name in Petrogradkov is cursed
when he finds out, I published first

2. Busted down on Bourbon Street
Set up just like a bowling pin
Knocked down, it gets to wearing thin

3. You can fall for chains of silver
And you can fall for chains of gold
You can fall for pretty strangers
And the promises they hold

4. Well, they’ll tempt you, man, with silver
And they’ll tempt you, sir, with gold
And they’ll tempt you with the pleasures
That the flesh doth surely hold

5. This ain’t no party
This ain’t no disco
This ain’t no foolin’ around

6. It comes down to reality
And that’s fine with me, cause I’ve let it slide

7. Give me a sista, I can’t resist her
Red beans and rice didn’t miss her

8. I want your ugly
I want your disease
I want your everything
As long as it’s free

9. There’s a Christmas party at the home of Farmer Gray
It’ll be the perfect ending to a perfect day

10. I’ve packed my bags
I’ve washed the floor
See me walking
Walking out the door

Leave your guesses in the comments. I’ll post the answers this evening. Have fun, and remember that using the Google takes all the sport out of it.
