Friday random ten: Parenthetically speaking, part 2

More songs with parentheses.

1. But Still He Loved Her So (The Ballad Of Harry And Esther) – Sally Fingerett
2. By Cover of Night (Fire Fight) – Sebastien Grainger
3. California (There Is No End To Love) – U2
4. Can’t Stop My Heart From Loving You (The Rain Song) – Aaron Neville
5. Can’t You See (You Doin’ Me Wrong) – Tower of Power
6. C’Etait Toi (You Were The One) – Billy Joel
7. Cherry Lips (Go Baby Go) – Garbage
8. Christmas Day (Time To Let You Go) – Russell (El Disastre)
9. Click On That (Smash The Plastic death) – bygones
10. Cockles And Mussels (Molly Malone) – Ceili’s Muse

That is the correct capitalization used in “Click On That (Smash The Plastic death)”. I have numerous songs for which the title is a foreign word or phrase, with the English translation in parentheses. I have generally skipped these songs but made an exception for “C’Etait Toi (You Were The One)” since both versions are part of the lyrics. Christmas songs seem to have a higher than average propensity to be parenthesized; we’ll see more examples of this in the coming weeks.
