Gun licensing is bullshit. It doesn’t stop anyone who really wants to buy a firearm illegally, and it makes it difficult for the rest of us to buy a firearm. It’s also very prone to abuse, with licenses withheld from legitimate citizens, while the politically connected get them without any issue at all. California’s concealed carry license has worked like that for decades, with celebrities and politically connected people getting carry licenses, while others, who actually need them, can’t get them, and in some cases, die because they can’t defend themselves from a stalker. Same thing in NYC, where the average citizen can’t get a license, but politicians and their friends have no problem.
Several notes:
1. Why not licensing AND better, more thorough background checks? Including the background check process being “open” where you could get a provisional OK but if info comes in later, provisional is revoked.
2. Kroger et al? “Asking” is not the same as “forbidding,” espec. “forbidding and posting ‘no guns.'”
The “new” Kavanaugh accuser is a Clinton lawyer who reports that a woman who does not remember Kavanaugh assaulting her was assaulted by Kavanaugh. Hmm.
The lawyer for Ford, Katz recently ADMITTED that Ford was motivated to try and derail Kav because she felt so strongly about abortion. In other words, it was worth totally fabricating the whole story if it could stop a guy she felt would be unsympathetic to abortion from getting on the SC. Ford’s already been caught in provable lies, like that extra front door that turned out to be not because she was frightened of enclosed spaces, but because she had an illegal sublet. Her ‘fear of flying’ also turned out to be a big fat lie, as she had no problem jet setting around on vacation, and, in the irony of ironies, didn’t even have to fly from California to D.C. for the hearing because she had already flown to the area to get coached by Katz and company. All Ford proved was that someone read Kavanaugh’s friend’s book. No one she named remembered anything like what she described, and even her friend Leyland said it didn’t happen. Well, she proved that she worked fairly hard on her vocal fry, to perfect that sing songy little girl voice, although she did break character enough for us to know it was BS.
And then nobody noticed the way her social media was professionally scrubbed before she came forward. How does some random liberal arts college adjunct pull that off?
Avanatti and his “choo, choo, all aboard the rape train allegations were so preposterous that even Spartacus and crew didn’t want to go near them, and finally, Swetnick couldn’t even figure out her story until she spent 5 or 6 hours with a Dem lawyer to make sure she fully understood the lie she was to tell.
If I was a Dem, I would be really ashamed of what my team did to Kavanaugh, a hit job by a bunch of liars. I mean, I’d be hugely embarrassed about it, to the point of never mentioning it again. But no, here’s a loyal Clinton solider making ANOTHER unsubstantiated accusation that even the purported victim says never happened.
If you are willing to see this done to Kavanaugh, how would you feel if it was YOUR son, or YOUR husband, or YOUR father that was attacked in this way, when even the players involved are telling you it was bullshit, like Katz. It was worth it to lie about Kavanaugh for the chance to keep him off the court.
What happens when someone decides it would be worth it to lie about YOUR son? Some lines we should just not cross.

Robert, none of your business, as it’s not relevant here. The 2nd Amendment clearly says the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. The militia clause is prefatory, and doesn’t stand on its own. Everywhere else in the Bill of Rights, “the people” means an individual right, not a collective right.
Fortunately, it’s not up to the Army to determine what I can or can’t own. The job of the Army is to do as its told by the national leadership, not make political judgments.

Manny, how would you feel if, say, one of your neighbors was pissed at you, so they got their daughter to call the cops and say your son assaulted their daughter? A bullshit claim, made out of spite, designed to ruin your family and hopefully drive you out of the neighborhood.
This is about on par with what the Dem. machine tried to do to Kavanaugh….in front of his two little girls and his wife. It was unconscionable, just like it would be if your neighbor lied about your son. “But it’s just a job interview!”
