RIM says it has Blackberry outage

Research In Motion Ltd. (TSX:RIM) said on Wednesday its Blackberry mobile e-mail network had an interruption, and gave no time frame for restoring service.

"We are currently experiencing a service interruption that is causing delays in sending or receiving messages," the company said on an automated customer service help line.

According to media reports, the infrastructure failed on Tuesday night, and e-mails were not being delivered to the handheld devices. Last night, Web site WNBC.com cited company officials as saying that they were trying to reset the system.

Today is going to be a fun day.
