Among the bills that Governor Perry has chosen to veto this time around is HB2193, a bipartisan effort to do some much-needed reform of the probation system. Grits has the details and a little venting about Perry's shortsightedness and (yes!) flipflop on the issue. Campaigns for alternatives to Mr. Perry in 2006, please take note.
Posted by Charles Kuffner on June 20, 2005 to That's our Lege | TrackBackThis one really has me steamed. As a criminal defense attorney I know first hand how important that bill was.
Once again, Perry and John Bradley have proven that high taxes are needed across Texas in order to incarcerate everybody for anything forever.
Sorry, had to vent. Off to the Travis County Jail.
