Endorsement watch: Mayorbob for Bradford
From the C.O. Bradford campaign: An endorsement from former Houston Mayor Bob Lanier.
Lanier appointed Bradford police chief in 1996. He stated that he is supporting Chief Bradford and intends to vote for him because he is the best candidate for job, having been a police officer for 24 years, police chief 7 years, and an attorney for 15 years.
Lanier joins a host of individuals and organizations supporting Bradford in the DA's race. All the major area law enforcement organizations have endorsed Bradford, along with high-profile attorneys Rusty Hardin and Richard Mithoff, the Harris County AFL-CIO, SEIU-Houston Justice for Janitors and Houston Organization of Public Employees, the GLBT Caucus and many others.
Nice. Now when do you suppose the Chron will get started on its endorsements? We're at T-minus 17 days till Early Voting, and there's a heap of races to evaluate. Looking back at the primaries, the Chron got started 16 days before Early Voting
, so I guess we're right on schedule. Tune in tomorrow and see if they aim for the same pace.

Please that's the same list of usual suspects all the Democrats get. Bob Lanier - no suprise there. What else is new?
And Rusty Hardin should be viewed a liability...not a badge of honor. He's a HIGH DOLLAR DEFENSE ATTORNEY - no surprise he wants to see the weaker DA candidate hold the office.
There are significant conflicts of interest surrounding Bradford's endorsements...Law enforcement organizations? High powered mercenary defense attorneys? These are all the natural enemies of the DA's office; and they are all patting Bradford's back...and pockets.
