How about filling all of the court vacancies?

I don’t really have an opinion about the newest Supreme Court nominee, Elena Kagan. There are people I respect who think she’s a good choice, and people I respect who wanted someone else, generally Diane Wood, to be the nominee instead. What I want to know is when will President Obama get around to picking nominees for the federal court vacancies in Texas? We know that meddling of our Republican Senators has caused some needless delay in other Texas-related nominations, and we know that the “just say No” strategy of the GOP Senate members in general has caused this sort of thing to be a lower priority overall, but come on. Pick some names, and if they can’t get an up-or-down vote, then make a bunch of recess appointments and move on to other business. The status quo is unacceptable and unsustainable, and it’s entirely in the President’s power to do something about it. Let’s get on with it already, Mister President.
