The National Press Club and GannonGuckert

I’m a signee of this open letter to the National Press Club about their upcoming conference on bloggers and journalists. It’s difficult to regard a panel which includes JimJeff GannonGuckert as anything other than a wretched parody, but then we do live in some strange times. See here and here for the background, and drop Sean-Paul a note if you want in on the signatory action.

Speaking of Gannon/Guckert, did you finally participate in that local SPJ lunch panel?

I know they were trying to include the Talon news guy — did they manage to pull that off?

I completely forgot about the thing until you posted this.

  2. I did, but there was no Talon dude (Bobby Eberle? I forget his name) there. Just me and Steve Casburn and maybe eight or so SPJ types. They asked us questions about blogging, and we expounded. Very laid back, and I thought it was an enjoyable experience.
