Well, if you took any joy at the generally negative reaction among conservative pundits and bloggers to the nomination of Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court, this will serve as a little cold water to the face. Link via Avedon. Liberal Oasis has some thoughts on what to do about it.
Well, at least we’re starting to hear about some interesting topics for discussion when her confirmation hearings begin. There’s this, of course (via Atrios), and there’s the by now widely-blogged-about lawsuit against Locke, Lidell, and Sapp, which occurred on her watch as co-managing partner. These are some of the things that are left to talk about when a nominee has no paper trail, I guess. And I daresay there’ll be more of that to come.
But Dr. Dobson is right, Kuff; Bush’s judicial picks have been consistent.

As Lord Acton said: ‘Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.’ Sadly, that seems to have happened to Justices Souter and Kennedy.
Sorry to show my ignorance, but what is he talking about? The only interpretation I can think of is that these two justices were appointed by Republican presidents but haven’t voted the Dobson Party Line on all cases. Everyone who doesn’t agree with Dobson all the time is corrupt?
Miss Meier, while campaigning for Dallas City Council, filled out a questionnaire that indicated she supports gay men/lesbian women having the same civil rights as straight men and women. Couple that with her having never been married and it gets a person to wondering……
Somebody needs to vet her voting record from the Dallas City Council. That’ll be the most extensive paper trail – those guys take LOTS of votes.
