Ask The Mayor

Kristin Mack mentioned in Friday’s column that Bill White will have a live webcast at 12:30 PM on Election Day, November 8. Part of this webcast is intended to be interactive, with Mayor White responding to feedback from any interested participants. Details are on BillWhiteForHouston.com – you will need to register to get a direct link to the webcast. If you’ve got a question for the Mayor, here’s your chance to ask it.

Nonpartisan GAO Confirms Security Flaws in Voting Machines

    by Congressman John Conyers

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) issued a report today I requested with Rep. Henry Waxman and other Members Of Congress. In sum, the GAO found that “some of [the] concerns about electronic voting machines have been realized and have caused problems with recent elections, resulting in the loss and miscount of votes.” GAO found that these concerns “merit the focused attention of
    federal
    state
    and local
    authorities responsible for election administration.”

Why are certified Houston Firefighters/EMT’s being fired because of a shortage of Paramedics?

Not only is this a waste of taxpayer money, but it is not accomplishing the ultimate goal.

  3. marky says:

Did you all see the same thing I saw? It was a canned speech, absolutely nothing interactive about it (except for the polling questions in the right margin). It was lame.
