The big four-oh

Today is my 40th birthday. We had a little party to celebrate last night, and I think everyone had a good time. Before anyone asks, the answer is I feel great about hitting this milestone. If my 40s are to my 30s as my 30s were to my 20s, I’m in for a great decade.

Of course, the truly momentous thing about this is that it means that Cindy Crawford will be turning 40 tomorrow. I’m in good company.

    Welcome aboard. I turned 40 in October, and knowing how much better my 30s were for me personally, professionally and financially than my 20s, I can only hope the trend continues to make my 40s the best decade yet.

    And even after that, health permitting, I hope to continue that trend with each successive decade.

    As for sharing birthdays, the only birthday I know I share is with Matt Biondi, who turned 40 on the same day I did. Hockey stars Mario Lemieux and Patrick Roy were both born three days before me.

    I find birthdays are much more fun now that I’ve been on the other side of the new baby divide.

    Happy birthday, Kuffster! I remember my 40th birthday. The skies opened up and a huge flood of wisdom and maturity was downloaded directly into my brain.
