An email from Iraq

Kerry points to this email from a contractor in Iraq, who has a few thoughts about the recent killings in Fallujah and the big picture overall. Well worth the read, so go check it out.

    Nice anonymous letter and editorializing.

I hear from contractors don’t share his view. Nothing I can share here, but then this guy hasn’t exactly shared much more than that, has he?

Here’s a link to a guy who is also in Iraq and whose name and background are on the same site as his posts, which gives us a little more of a basis to evaluate what he says.

I happen to know the contractor. He recently retired from the military and I have no reason to doubt what he says. He’s only been in Baghdad as a contractor for a short time, in his first job since leaving the service (you’ll note that I said he retired, not that he got discharged; he served for quite a while), but he’s been in a variety of places throughout the world during his time in the military.

I’m not saying he knows everything and that you shouldn’t question his opinion. I’m simply vouching for him and saying he’s not a kook, a nutcase, or somebody who has any particular axe to grind. He’s a good person who served his country for a long time. His opinion may be anonymous, but it’s not uninformed.
