Home again

Just wanted to let everybody know that I was discharged from the hospital today, and am back home resting up. I’ll tell the full story later, but for now I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the well-wishes, and to Alex and Martha for their superb guest-blogging, which will continue for a little while longer while I get back on my feet. This ordeal has been hard on my family, but they came through like champions and I couldn’t have done it without them. To our friends Pat and Andrea for the babysitting and dog-walking, to my in-laws Tim and Sharon for all they did, and especially to Tiffany, Olivia, and Audrey: Thank you. I love you all.

    Hey, we were worried.

    Rest, OK?

  3. Royal Masset says:

Get well soon. Texas needs you in the fray.

If you have been in the hospital for any length of time, you are behind on your rest. You may feel somewhat better because they can treat the illness, but the hospital can be a lousy place to get a lot of good rest. So…

It is the nurse’s order: rest!

  5. hope says:

Glad to hear you are on the mend. I hope you’re back to 100 percent real soon.

  6. Get well, my friend. Your subs were great, but we all want you healthy and well!

  7. Tim says:

Ick. Get some rest. I had pneumonia when I was 12, and it was the most miserable two weeks of my life. I can definitely commiserate.

Anyway, rest up and come back strong. This place has looked too much like the Daily Kos in your absence. 🙂

  8. Patrick says:

Glad to read that you are out of the hospital and on the road to recovery. Get some rest and please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

  9. Carl Whitmarsh says:

Glad to know you are home. From recent experience, let me explain you are now 25% back to normal and if you don’t follow all directions just like prescribed, the relapse that can follow is worse than the first wave.

This crap leaves you weak as a kitten and is far more serious than you can ever imagine. Take care of yourself, let yourself be pampered by those who love you and get back to normal WHEN YOU CAN! Houston can’t be without its best blogger for too long.

  10. Well, Tim, thank you very much.

  11. Neil Aquino says:

Glad you are up and running.

  12. Support Science to Reverse Global Warming, which Al Gore says is still possible on 7/7/07 says:

Charles, so good to hear you are on the mend.
