Friday random ten: Going, going, gone

I feel like going somewhere this Friday. How about you?

1. Goin’ Cali – Bruce Springsteen
2. Goin’ Up – Great Big Sea
3. Going Down To The River – Saffire-The Uppity Blues Woman
4. Going For The One – Yes
5. Going Out Tonight – Mary-Chapin Carpenter
6. Going To Hell In Your Heavenly Arms – Austin Lounge Lizards
7. Going To Mexico – Steve Miller Band
8. Going To The Zoo – Peter, Paul, and Mary
9. Going Up To The Country, Paint My Mailbox Blue – Asylum Street Spankers
10. Gone Hollywood – Dave Verdick

I was going to do a list of songs that start with the word “Good”, as I have more than ten of them, but I’d already done a Good Songs list and didn’t want to repeat myself. Where are you going with your iPod this week?

UPDATE: In response to Linkmeister‘s excellent suggestion, here are some songs from my collection that have to do with today’s big news:

Peace – Los Lobos
Peace On The Border – Steeleye Span
Peace Train – Cat Stevens
Peaceful Easy Feeling – Little Texas
Peaceful Warrior – Flying Fish Sailors
Peaceful World – John Mellencamp
Trouble Let Me Rest In Peace – Trout Fishing in America
Consolation Prize – Julie Doiron
Eyes On The Prize – Bruce Springsteen

Peace out, y’all.

  1. Linkmeister says:

I thought you might have looked for songs with “Peace” in the title, riffing off the Nobel news.

Never fear, though, I have nine songs!

Going Back To Harlan, Emmylou Harris
Going Down To Cuba, Jackson Browne
Going Home (Theme from The Local Hero), Mark Knopfler
It’s Going To Take Some Time, The Carpenters
Never Going Back, The Lovin’ Spoonful
Never Going Back Again, Fleetwood Mac
Rocket Man (I Think It’s Going To Be A Long, Long Time), Elton John
Theme From “Mahogany” (Do You Know Where You’re Going To?), Diana Ross
    What’s Going On, Marvin Gaye

  2. Jesse Alred says:

Springsteen’s goin’ cali is a great song his fans have never listened to.

  3. Dave Verdick says:

Amazing what a Google search on one’s name will turn up…appreciate the shout out! But I must give credit where credit is due – my “Gone Hollywood” is a cover version of the original Supertramp song. Albeit mine is a bit heavier and edgy. Just wanted to pass that tidbit of information along!
