What they’re really not telling you

There are many things about the Houston Chronicle that I’d change if I were given the freedom to do so. If I were limited to just one thing, I’d see to it that they never printed anything by Michelle Malkin ever again. If you want to know why, read this and follow the links. As far as I’m concerned, any publication which uncritically prints Michelle Malkin is not worthy of being called “respectable”.

I was horrified to see Malkin on Bill Maher’s HBO show last night. It’s not bad enough that Maher almost singlehandedly pushed Ann Coulter into national fame, now he’s going to do it with Malkin.

Coulter’s actually a relatively intelligent broad who’s adopted the schtick for marketing purposes (in my view). It’s worked for her popularity, if not for her credibility.

Malkin, on the other hand, has never impressed me that much one way or the other.

It’s indicative of the poor judgment of the Comical’s editors that they think SHE of all people needs to be one of their few regularly featured “conservative” columnists.

Sadly, she’s an improvement over reading about, say, local columnist Andrea Georgsson’s efforts to give away leftovers to her neighbors.

But that only speaks to just how horrible the newspaper is.

It blows the mind that they couldn’t round up some other young conservative columnists. How hard would it be to turn to TownHall.com and pick up a few names to grab in syndication? Except that requires editorial discernment. There is none at the Comical.

  3. Malkin in the Middle

Everybody’s talking about Michelle Malkin’s odd-job performance on Hardball with Chris Matthews last night, but frankly, Matthews’s rhetoric was at least as professionally objectionable as Malkin’s—though let me insert a great big glaring neon Ve…
