Haiku!

Today is your last chance to compose a haiku in honor of President Bush’s birthday tomorrow. My muse for this sort of thing has obviously taken the weekend off, as I’ve tried and failed to come up with a good one. Maybe I’ll spend a few minutes here and see if it helps. And I’ll be checking with The Stakeholder to see if they’re successful at delivering the haikus and cards for the President’s birthday.

  1. The “base”? No problem:
Tell them what they want to hear.
    Nothing else matters.

  2. Tim says:

    Appointed Ashcroft.
    Gave us the Patriot Act.
    Kiss freedom goodbye.

    One can hear the wheels
    In his brain slowly turning
    As he sits and thinks.

    Last election proved
That one needs only five votes
    To be President.

    Had Al Gore won his

    November 2nd,
The voters will get to say
    Bye-bye to the Shrub!

    Flag on the play, William!

“WMD” is at least 4 syllables by itself (depends on if it’s “dubya” or “double-u”).

    Five yards. Repeat the down.

  5. William Hughes says:

I knew somebody was going to catch that. 🙁

    Try this:

    That Saddam Hussein
    Must have WMD.
    But I could be wrong.

  6. HWRNMNBSOL says:

    Cherry blossoms fall
    Child-man scrawls ‘Let Freedom Reign!’
    Lips move as he writes
