Survey(USA) says: Harris County is down on Bush

The latest 50 state approval ratings for President Bush are out, and they contain some surprisingly bad news for him in Harris County. I’ve got a post on it over at Kuff’s World.

    Kuff, if you look at the frequency counts, the Harris County sample is only 83 people.

    The margin of error at 95 percent confidence for a sample of 83 is, at best, 1/sqrt(83), or about 11 percent.

    Even at best, Bush would be at 44-51 in Harris, which sucks ass for the Preznit. Still, I’m not yet ready to say that this is the “worst ever” showing in Harris County.

    It’d be nice to have a 2,000 person sample for a statewide poll before the November election. It would make a very nice benchmark.

    I think they polled 100% of all folks (83 of them total) who had a rotary-dial phone on a party line. They couldn’t have asked me anyway: my cell phone is always out of range.

    Did we beat Austin?

    Bush’s numbers are still way too high for the increasing danger to us all on the coast from his greater extinction level job performance on global warming. In particular, last years’ increase in the number of hurricanes also saw a 50% increase in the strength of hurricanes along with higher storm surges. Very high waves at the storm’s center are more common now.

    There is no curse harsh enough to describe Bush’s dangerous behavior towards us all.
