Sign stealing

Sign stealing is lame, no matter who does it. And here’s what I have to say about it:

Don’t mess with my signs.

South Carolina – 1992. My parents’ Clinton/Gore sign was spray-painted, as was every Clinton/Gore sign in the neighborhood. The state Democratic headquarters was vandalized. Not as bad as the yahoo who drove up on our lawn several years before to run over our sign for the first black state senator since Reconstruction, but it was really pathetic.

This is why I just don’t post signs or attach bumper stickers. It’s not like broadcasting my views to everyone is going to change anyone’s mind.

I put out 10 Barr and 10 generic Libertarian Party signs at the Bear Creek voting site and all were stolen. What purpose does it serve to bother taking signs for candidates who will not get votes anyway?

  4. Tom in Lazybrook says:

I’m now on Obama sign number 10 (the prior NINE have been stolen from my Lazybrook home). The Norm Adams-provided McCain signs have been untouched in my neighborhood.
