The 70s really were different

You can tell by the bumper stickers for various Presidential candidates. (May I just say – Fred Harris? Birch Bayh? Jerry Brown? And to think some people thought the Democratic candidates this year were a bunch of nobodies.) Click on some of the other years for a bit of nostalgia and the occasional guffaw (Reubin Askew?). The sad thing is that I remember many of the 1976 bumper stickers and signs.

    Damn I’m old. 🙂

Don’t lump Jerry Brown in with the nobodies. Back in the day his main squeeze was Linda Ronstadt. Before she discovered the “Canciones di me Padre” and “Recipes de Cheesecake con Cherries di me Madre” looked pretty darn good in hotpants and roller skates……..Dammit. I dated myself again, didn’t I?

Oh well, while I’m at it, I always had a thing for Karen Valentine from “Room 222”. I think she once dated Paul Tsongas.
