Update on the municipal wireless ban

Save Muni Wireless reports from the public hearings over HB 789, which would prohibit municipalities from offering network services, with news of the testimony favoring and opposing the proposed ban.     Do the positions on this issue shift when you move away from wireless service?

    I mean, what if a municipality wanted to give everybody cable TV? Or phone service? Or water? Shouldn’t the residents of a municipality be able to spend tax money to provide any service they choose?
