The worst actress

Jim Capozzola at The Rittenhouse Review has asked for nominations to settle the burning question “Who is the worst actress in the world?” While his list certainly includes some suitable choices, I’m just gobsmacked that no one so far has mentioned Bo Derek or Pia Zadora. Maybe it’s a collective case of amnesia, or maybe everyone’s too ashamed to admit they’ve even heard of Bolero and The Lonely Lady, I don’t know. Either way, I’ll bet Pete could get an entire Film Threat article just on Bad Actresses Of The 1980s. Please, drop Jim a note at [email protected] and help him out. Let’s not let any true worthies go unrecognized.

    To really appreciate Bo, you’ve got to watch Tarzan (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083170/).

    A really, really, really bad movie. Even Bo au naturel doesn’t justify losing 107 minutes of your life.

    Elizabeth Berkley in “Showgirls” makes Bo Derek look like Katherine Hepburn.

    I’ve actually got the unrated version of this (on laserdisk even). I’ll have to watch it again.
