And on they go

Hey, how about those Astros? Well done all around. And how sweet it is for Biggio and Bagwell to come up big in the decisive 7th inning. Nothing quite like a little redemption, is there?

The championship series ought to be a lot of fun, with bitter division rivals facing off in each league. And let me now just agree with Rafe about how Fox has promoted the Yankee-Red Sox matchup. Somebody buy Jeannie Zelasko a box of Depends – she might just wet herself at the first measure of chin music.

Anyway. Go Astros, go Yankees. Damn, I love the playoffs.

Anybody that beats the Braves is OK in my book. I picked the Astros and Yankees in the Series back in spring training, and I won’t change yet, even if the Cardinals are the best team in baseball.

The Yankees – Red Sox series should be fun. I noticed that Major League Baseball had to recall some “Who’s Your Daddy?” T-shirts after the Red Sox fans complained. Since I’ve been at Fenway Park several times, I can assure you that those are tame compared to what I’ve seen Red Sox fans wear.

Well, 2/3 of the Axis of Evil are gone with the ouster of the Dodgers and Braves. Now we just have to get the kingpin of baseball evil out as well. Go Sox!

  3. The Jinx

There’s all the talk about the jinx and the Boston Red Sox, but it’s easy to argue that we’ve got ’em beat here in Texas. The Texas Rangers have played in Arlington for 33 years. Number of playoff series won?…
